Palmer Glacier · Mt. Hood, Oregon · 8,500 ft
There is a glacier in Oregon that holds snow all summer, and a terrain park gets built on it every June. Most riders have no idea it exists. It is, for reasons almost nobody expects, the best place on earth to actually get better.
Free 8-page field guide. No cost, no call.
Wait, what?
Timberline sits at about 8,500 feet on the Palmer Glacier, which is why it runs the longest ski season on the continent. Every summer a full freestyle park is cut into the glacier — progressive jump lines, rails, boxes, a halfpipe and an airbag. You ride in the morning when it’s perfect, and you are eating lunch in a T-shirt by early afternoon.

The part that surprises people
This is not a novelty. Soft, forgiving corn snow changes the thing that has been holding your riding back for years: fear of the fall. When falling stops hurting, your body stops bracing. When your body stops bracing, you can finally be taught.
Ice punishes every mistake. Your body defends itself, and a defensive stance is the root of nearly every intermediate plateau.
Corn snow absorbs a fall. You try the thing you would never try in February, and you try it forty times.
Timberline’s airbag removes the landing entirely, so you can rehearse a spin until it’s boring, then take it to snow.
The loop
Summer glacier corn is the most forgiving surface in snowboarding. Falling stops hurting, so your body stops bracing.
Four campers per coach. Your coach knows your name, your leak and your goal by Monday lunch.
Timberline's airbag lets you try the scary version twenty times with no landing consequence.
Every evening we put your footage on the screen and find the one thing to change tomorrow.
You wake up and do it again — 7 days back to back. That repetition is the part winter can never give you.
Eight pages: what the glacier is actually like, what to pack for snow-in-summer, the gear that matters and the gear that doesn’t, how a camp week runs hour by hour, and what it costs across every camp on the mountain — ours included, compared honestly.
It is on the way. If it is not there in two minutes, look in Promotions — then drag it to your main tab so you get the session dates first.
If you want the coached version
Exact calendar dates are confirmed with Timberline each spring and announced to deposit holders first. Both sessions run Monday through Sunday between June 20 and July 30, 2027.
“I was able to progress my riding, and at the same time, I felt safe because I knew I had great coaches I could trust. Morning exercises on the mountain and video feedback were super valuable… Riding Mount Hood in the summer, meeting new friends, seeing old friends, watching pros ride, and getting coached by the best is super special.”Jimmy Rivas · RN, 37, Chicago
